Support chefs of the future
Since the formation of Santa Barbara Restaurant Week, we have been dedicated to giving back to our culinary community in Santa Barbara and around California. Last year SBRW donated 50% of restaurant registration proceeds to Restaurants Care, a grant program that assisted many of our fellow restaurant employees to recover from financial losses due to the Thomas Fire and Mudslide. This year we are beyond excited to have Prostart® as our beneficiary for the Second Annual Santa Barbara Restaurant Week.
ProStart® is a two-year culinary arts and hospitality management program developed by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. 127 public high schools in California use this curriculum reaching 9,000 students.
CRAF enriches ProStart® programs by connecting schools with industry. We do this through field trips, guest speakers, mentoring, grants, competitions and scholarships.
